Description

Condition Report

An early twentieth century pierced silver fruit dish, the circular compressed form with applied gadroon rim enclosing foliate scroll and diaper pierced decoration throughout, raised on three foliate capped legs with scroll supports and terminating in paw feet. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1912. Maximum diameter measuring 10 inches (25.3 cm), weight 26.98 ozt (839.2 grams).

Please note: When placing absentee bids, your bids will be rounded up to the nearest bid increment. For more information click the 'Important Notices for Purchasers' button above.

Purchasing information
The dish is quite heavily tarnished throughout and would benefit from a clean and polish. Otherwise it appears in good overall condition, displaying some expected surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. A few heavier contact marks and surface nicks are visible to some areas, mainly on the plain silver parts. A couple of minor dints and possible repairs but overall the pierced decoration appears in good order. Hallmarks are clear and legible, also with impressed number 6710/4 over 10.
