Condition Report

A late Victorian silver hot water pot of plain bellied form to a footed base, having a leather insulated handle and hinged lid with gadroon rim and flame finial, hallmarked Edwin Charles Purdie, London 1900, maximum height 7 7/8 inches (20 cm). Together with a modern silver baluster shape coffee pot, hallmarked Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1971. Gross weight 28.34 ozt (881.3 grams). (2).

Purchasing information
    Both displaying some tarnishing and general surface wear, marks and scratches. A few minor surface dints and bumps. The Victorian pot with repaired or replacement finial to lid, flood of solder visible to interior. Further visible solder/seam lines. Hinged lid appears slightly out of alignment with the rim and rises slightly when closed. Hallmarks rubbed and worn but still legible. Modern pot with a larger dint to one side of body, hallmarks clear and legible.
