Condition Report

An Egyptian revival diamond, ruby and enamel brooch. Designed as a textured bird, with rose-cut diamond and circular-shape ruby line highlights, to the vari-hue enamel terminals. Length 4.2cms. Weight 3.7gms. With case.

  • Overall condition good to fair. Some scratches and discolouration in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Some possible gem replacements.
  • Discolouration to reverse.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
  • Diamonds have few, minor inclusions. One chipped.

  • Rubies slightly vary in tone, a medium purplish red hue.
  • Rubies in good to fair condition with minor abrasion and minor chips.

  • Enamel deficient in areas, with chip to surface.
