An opal and diamond pendant, with chain.

Condition Report

An opal and diamond pendant. Designed as a heart-shape opal cabochon collet, with old-cut diamond surround and similarly-cut diamond line surmount, suspended from a trace-link chain. Estimated dimensions of opal 17 by 14.5 by 3.2mms. Estimated total diamond weight 0.55ct. Length of pendant 3cms. Length of chain 40cms. Weight 6.1gms.

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some scratches and minor dents in keeping with general wear.
  • Noticeable wear to several claws.
  • Anodized finish to diamond mounts.
  • Evidence of repair and possible alterations to mounts.
  • Surmount possible later replacement.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
  • Diamonds have mostly few, small inclusions, few with surface reaching feathers.
  • Opal in good condition with minor abrasions, displaying good play of colour, ranging from predominantly bluish, greenish and orange hue.
