Condition Report

A Knight Grand Cross or Dame Grand Cross (GCMG) necklace of office. Comprising a series of white enamel Maltese cross links, passant lions and the initials SM and SS of scrolling acanthus leaf design, the central panel depicting two winged lions with a crown surmount. French restrike marks for silver. Length 110cms. Weight 437.5gms. With unassociated Garrard & Co. box.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
  • White enamel appears to have been applied over original surface.
  • With a French restrike marks for silver. Electronically tests as gold plated.
  • Box in fair condition, with initials G.C.M.G. stamped to the front. With a small pen mark to the top of the inner lining, two small stickers to the base and some moderate wear to the edges. Internal compartments worn, may require re-stitching.
