Condition Report

An early 20th century amethyst split pearl and enamel brooch. Of openwork design, the oval-shape amethyst, within a scrolling white and black enamel dotted surround with split pearl highlights. Estimated amethyst dimensions 12.2 by 9.5 by 6.3mms. Length 1.9cms. Weight 3.3gms.

  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Amethyst medium purple, fairly well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Stones in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Split pearls have a creamy body colour, with rose and olive tones.

  • Amethyst and split pearl with rose and olive overtones.

  • Brooch has possibly been re-enameled.

  • Pin is a replacement.
