Lot 22

Lot Description

A late Victorian silver rose bowl, the circular body with part oblique fluting, alternated with embossed beading and floral scroll border and raised above a circular stepped base. Hallmarked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes Chester 1900. Diameter measuring 8 1/4 inches (21 cm), weight 15 ozt (476 grams).

Total lot weight: No

The rose bowl displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing and overall would benefit from a clean and polish. Remnants of old polish visible to the recesses. The bowl no longer appears 100% circular. The base has a dent and no longer sits flush to the surface. Both cartouche are currently vacant. The hallmarks are a little rubbed, but easily clear and legible, also numbered 18 to the underneath.
