Lot Description

1930's silver butter dish of flared circular form with panel sides and a foliate pierced rim, the cover with conforming sides and ebonised finial.  Hallmarked Viner's Ltd., Sheffield 1933.  Approximate diameter of dish measures 6 inches (15.5 cm), gross weight 9.25 ozt (287.7 grams).

The butter dish displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. There are some deeper scratches and a number of small dents to the edges and rims. The silver surrounding the finial is compressed to one side and the finial does not sit straight. An additional Irish import mark is visible to the rim. Dublin 1933, appears a little rubbed. The remaining hallmarks are clear and legible.
