Lot Description

Late Victorian small silver dish, of circular form with frill rim and embossed with a band of floral and foliate motifs with vacant cartouche, raised above three lion mask capped feet.  Hallmarked Chawner & Co (George William Adams), London 1890. Maximum diameter measures 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), weight 3 ozt (94.6 grams).

The dish displays general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  Heavy tarnishing is visible and it would benefit from a clean and polish.  The hallmarks on the underside are clear and legible, also with impressed number 1182.
