Lot Description

A nineteenth century Chinese export pepper modelled as a bamboo shoot with detachable screw lid, marked to the underside CS, attributed to Cumshing, alongside Chinese character mark, height measuring 2 1/2 inches (6 cm). Together with a pair of Chinese open salts of tapered hexagonal form, the side panels depicting bamboo, blossom and Chinese characters, one with glass liner, Chinese marks to the underside, a Japanese condiment of bulbous planished form, character mark to the underside, an English hallmarked butter dish mount and a small selection of continental condiments to include a Viking ship open salt.
