Lot Description
A late George III silver teapot and sugar basin, the teapot of swollen rectangular form, with bands of foliate and Greek-key engraving and gadrooned rims, raised on four ball feet, to the angular handle and spout, with ivory finial, together with a similarly designed sugar basin. Hallmarked Stephen Adams II, London 1806. Height of teapot 6 3/4 inches (17.2 cm), weight 26.83 ozt (834.8 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Wooden part of finial split. Ivory significantly discoloured. Wear to finish on wood. Lid does not quite close securely. Hallmarks slightly worn, legible. Maker's mark very worn, legible to teapot. Minor tarnish and blackspotting. Sugar possibly re-gilt.
