Lot Description

A German import novelty box modelled as a cow laying down with one hoof extended, part hinged base. Import marks for Berthold Muller, Chester 1903, also struck with the Foreign Mark and two further indistinct marks.
Maximum length measures 6.5 cm, weight 28.5 grams.

Condition Report

The box displays general wear including surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Seam visible along the cow's back, also loss of surface detail to some of the decoration. Hinged lid and clasp appear in working order. Some of the marks are a little rubbed and distorted but mainly legible.
