Lot Description

Two early twentieth century silver mounted jewellery or trinket boxes, each of circular form with hinged covers decorated with shades of purple guilloche enamel, opening to reveal silver-gilt and material lined interiors, raised upon three or four feet, hallmarked Birmingham 1912 and 1920, various maker's marks. (2).

Both boxes displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Also general surface dints and bumps. One of the boxes displays heavier dints around the foot joins. Material linings to both are worn and a little loose and faded. The underside on one is very threadbare. Hinges to both appear in working order. Residues of old polish to both. Enamel to both appears in good overall condition, with some nibbles to very edge. Hallmarks rubbed but still legible.
