Lot Description

A late Victorian silver mounted and tortoiseshell box, the silver embossed and fluted detachable cover with vacant cartouche and crimped rim border, leading to a silver mounted circular tortoiseshell body upon a gadrooned rim base, hallmarked William Comyns & Sons, London 1887, height measures 2 3/8 inches (6.2 cm). Together with two 1920's silver mounted jewellery or trinket boxes (S/D), hallmarked Birmingham 1921 & 1922 and an inlaid tortoiseshell box with a scene of a lady and cherub upon a carriage to the hinged lid. (4).
