Lot Description

A turn of the century Chinese Export silver presentation goblet by Wang Hing & Co, the body embossed with various battle scenes depicting horseman amidst a rural landscape, engraved cartouche and raised on a knopped stem and circular foot embellished with floral band. Marked to the foot WH alongside character mark and 90. Height measuring 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm), weight 19.8 ozt (618 grams).

The goblet displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. A little misshapen to the foot and bowl. Remnants of old polish to the recesses. Wobbles slightly. The decoration remains in good condition with fine detail present. Engraving reads 'Oakdene Presented by Angela Powell-Shedden 1955-1962'.
