Lot Description
A late Victorian silver combination vesta and sovereign case, the body of oblong dual hinged form, with ivy leaf decoration throughout and engraved initials to one corner, the press release opening to reveal an engine turned plated sprung platform holder for a full sovereign, the opposing end with striker to cover. Hallmarked Birmingham 1897, maker's mark rubbed and indistinct. Length including suspension ring 8.5cm, weight 48.9 grams.

Condition Report
In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Interior gilding worn, and sovereign holder surround bent to one side but mechanism okay.
