A William IV silver 'castle top' vinaigrette by Nathaniel Mills, the rounded rectangular form with raised foliate edge, reeded sides and engine turned base, the hinged lid decorated in relief with a view of Windsor Castle and opening to a floral scroll pierced grille. Hallmarked Birmingham 1837. Length measuring 3.8 cm, weight 23.8 grams.

Condition Report
Appears in good overall condition, displaying some tarnishing and some expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Some rubbing and slight loss of detail to areas of decoration but generally still good. Both hinged parts appear in good order. Likely gilded interior but now very faded. Some deeper scratches visible to the interior base. Hallmarks clear and legible, grille also struck with maker's mark and lion passant.
