Lot Description

A George II silver coffee pot, of tapering circular form to a skirted base, with engraved and flat chased decoration of flowers, foliage, rocaille and scroll motifs and crested cartouche to one side, the spout further embellished, with fruitwood handle and the domed hinged cover with conforming decoration and foliate finial. Hallmarked Fuller White, London, date letter very worn, possibly 1755. Height to finial measuring 10 5/8 inches (27 cm), gross weight 30.91 ozt (961.3 grams).

Displaying general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing to base and the interior with some heavy stained marks. A few surface dints and bumps throughout. Some rubbing and slight loss of surface detail to areas of decoration. including crest. Slight compression to foot with slight wobble, possible repairs? Further possible repairs around hinges to lid and tip of spout. Staining to wood handle worn and faded and small piece broken off/worn away to lower section. Hallmarks located below rim near to handle on one side, rubbed and partly worn. Further maker's mark to base. Lid appears unmarked.
