Lot Description

A mid-20th century cased set of six 'Silver Hallmarks' teaspoons, each of plain design with slim tapering stem, hallmarked Travis, Wilson & Co Ltd., 1962, each with a different assay office mark for London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield and Chester. Together with two further cased sets of teaspoons, the first set of six with shell detail to terminal, hallmarked Walker & Hall, Sheffield 1920/21/22/24, the second set of six spoons with matching sugar tongs, hallmarked Angora Silver Plate Co., Sheffield 1941. Total weight 6.72 ozt (209 grams).

The set of Hallmark spoons and the Angora set with tongs appear in good overall condition, displaying some light surface wear, marks and scratches. Hallmarks all clear and legible with some light rubbing.

The 1920's spoons are still in fairly good overall condition but do have some heavier surface wear, scratches and tarnish. One bowl has a couple of small dints towards the tip, seen from both sides. Hallmarks good.
