Full Lot Description
An early Victorian silver snuff box, the rounded rectangular form with reeded sides and engine-turned criss-cross pattern to base and hinged lid, the lid also with crest engraved shield cartouche and foliate chased thumb-piece. Hallmarked Francis Clark, Birmingham 1844. Length 2.5" (6.5cm), gross weight 2 ozt (64.7 grams).

<li>Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing consistent with age and use.
<li>Some heavier wear around edges and corners including minor surface nicks and slight dints and knocks, especially at corners; small split at one corner.
<li>Surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration causing loss of detail to some areas.
<li>Slight damage to hinge pin on one end, but hinges appear in good working order and lid closes securely; however it does rise up again very slightly when closed.
<li>Interior with some tarnishing and stained marks, a sticker mark and other residues.
<li>Hallmarks located to interior base and reverse of lid; these a little rubbed around edges but all still clearly legible.
