Full Lot Description
A George II silver cake basket of oval form, the scrolled rim with Chinese mask detail, enclosing alternate pierced panels bordered by beaded flutes, and centrally engraved crest, the swing handle with bust terminals on scrolled supports, and the whole raised on similarly decorated Chinese mask feet with pierced apron. Hallmarked Edward Aldridge I & John Stamper, London 1758. Maximum length 38cm and width 33cm, approximate height with handle upright 28cm, weight 44.72ozt (1391.2g).

Condition Report
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- With heavier tarnishing, dirt, and residues of old polish to some areas.
- With some minor surface nicks and dints.
- The swing handle appears in good working order and is self-supporting.
- Wobbles a little bit on its feet.
- Hallmarks are located in one of the pierced panels below Chinese mask detail on rim, these a little rubbed but still clear and legible.
- With scratch weight to base 46:19.
