Full Lot Description
A 1930's silver mounted compact, the square form with canted edge and pale green guilloché enamel lid, opening to a circular mirror, hallmarked William Neale & Son Ltd., Birmingham 1937, measuring 6.8cm square; plus a circular example with engine-turned lid, and initialled and dated to the base, hallmarked A L Davenport Ltd., Birmingham 1936, diameter 7.5cm. Gross weight 5.12ozt (159g). (2).

Condition Report
- Gross weight does not include mesh liners/inserts
- Both compacts displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing consistent with their age
- Square case:
- some shallow surface dints to the base
- green enamel top with some surface scratches and nicks but appears in fairly good order overall
- feels a little stiff to open and close; but does 'snap shut' securely
- mesh liner is heavily torn
- heavier pitting marks and nicks to the corners and edges inside the case; also some spots of tarnishing
- Hallmarks located inside and these are clear and legible
- Circular case:
- with some surface dints and creases, these slightly heavier and more notable to the base
- Base initialled and dated 14: 9: 38
- Hinges appear in working order, closes securely
- mesh liner a little torn, some powder residues
