This month’s Designer Handbags & Accessories auction features a stunning array of luxury pre-loved pieces. It's the perfect place to add a touch of elegance to your collection. The auction opens with designer handbags from premium brands like Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci. Following the premium brands are contemporary and heritage names such as Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, and Mulberry, among others.
After that, you'll find an impressive selection of designer sunglasses and jewellery. It includes some rare vintage pieces from Chanel and Christian Dior. However, with the cooler months approaching, the auction wraps up with glamorous coats and jackets from Lilly e Violetta.
Summer Style Essentials
Kick off your summer in style with Chanel. Lot 1 is a bold, multicoloured tweed flap bag from their 2016 Cruise collection. A perfect statement piece for the season. If you're gripped with Olympic fever, why not accessorise your sporting prowess with lots 33 and 34, wearing silver while going for gold!
Gucci’s Homage to London
Obviously, the highlights are lots 72 and 73 - a cosmetic case and matching wallet from Gucci's 2025 Cruise collection. Showcased at the Tate in London, this collection is a tribute to the city that inspired Gucci’s founder, Guccio Gucci. The wallet is even stamped "Londres" on the interior, adding a unique touch.
Gucci's current creative director, Sabato De Sarno, expressed his admiration for London in his show notes. He stated, "I owe a lot to this city; it has welcomed and listened to me. The same is true for Gucci, whose founder was inspired by his experience here."
Vintage Glamour from Paris
If you’re a fan of vintage, don’t miss the undeniably unique 1960s Parisian set lots 103, 104, and 105. This exquisite trio, comprising a gold and diamond-set agenda cover, compact, and evening bag, epitomises vintage glamour. These pieces bear the maker’s marks of Pierre Brun SA, a family known for crafting luxury items for prominent houses in Place Vendôme and Rue de la Paix. However, the workshop was later acquired by Cartier in 2000.
Similar agenda covers are known to have “Hermès” engraved on an internal bar, with external French workshops’ maker’s marks. However, this specific piece lacks the bar, it does include a paper refill by Hermès, dated 1968, suggesting these items were crafted for the same individual.
Jewellery to Dazzle
From fine objets d'art to stunning vintage costume jewellery, this auction's jewellery section offers a remarkable selection. Expect rare vintage Chanel Gripoix necklaces and bangles alongside contemporary pieces. Look out for classic vintage Michael Maer for Christian Dior brooches paired with statement noughties bangles.
Not to be overshadowed, there are statement pieces by YSL, likely designed during Robert Goosens' time at the brand. This is an exciting opportunity for all jewellery collectors.
Coats for Cooler Days
Finally, it may seem surreal to think about fur coats during a summer heatwave, however, the jackets and coats in this auction are too fabulous to miss. Alongside vintage furs, we are thrilled to offer brand-new pieces by the British-Italian brand Lilly e Violetta. Favoured by celebrities like Paris Hilton and J-Lo, the 11 lots in this auction provide an affordable way to add a touch of glamour to any outfit. While their boutique prices start at nearly £3,000, you could walk away with one at a fraction of the cost.
