Victorian cased pair of open salts.

Condition Report

Late Victorian cased pair of silver open salts of cauldron form, gadrooned rim and each raised above three shell mounted paw feet and a pair of Albany pattern salt spoons. Hallmarked Fordham & Faulkner (William Charles Fordham & Albert Faulkner) Sheffield 1898/9. Gross silver weight 4.2 ozt (133 grams).

Purchasing information
    The cased pair of open salts display general scratches marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. One of the feet has become further bent, thus causing the salt to sit off balance, this should be very easily corrected. Overall the hallmarks are clear and legible. The case is marked Jay, Richard Attenborough & Co Ltd Oxford Street London and displays light general wear, one of the threads which holds the spoons in position has broken,.
