An early 20th century gold demantoid garnet, ruby and diamond brooch.

Condition Report

An early 20th century gold diamond and gem-set brooch. The circular-shape demantoid garnet and pear-shape ruby sides, all within an old-cut diamond shared surround, with old-cut diamond terminal knife-edge bar sides. Estimated total diamond weight 0.75ct. Length 4.1cms. Weight 4.5gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Demantoid garnet very bright and vibrant green, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Rubies moderately dark purplish-red, well saturated, with fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Diamonds well matched.

  • Diamonds bright.

  • Some diamond show light coloured inclusions under magnification, some show slight surface reaching inclusions, some show no obvious inclusions under 10X magnification.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
