Condition Report

A mid Victorian 18ct gold, ruby and diamond bangle, circa 1870. Of openwork design, the cushion-shape ruby and diamond point anchor, entangled within a rope-twist strand, to the articulated bangle with further rope-twist highlights. French assay marks. Inner diameter 5.7cms. Weight 35.4gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Damage to the clasp fittings.
  • The clasp is difficult to open fully, it catches in places.
  • General moderate small dents to the hollow sections.
  • File scuff and associated slight discolouration.
  • General discolouration toward the anchor.
  • Some possible replacement gems.
  • Diamonds fairly bright and well matched.
  • Cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies are a fairly well matched fairly purplish red hue. Variation in tone and saturation.
  • Typical inclusions, some surface reaching.
  • Length of anchor 3.9cms.
  • Width of bangle 1.3cms.
