Lot 156

A pair of early twentieth century silver candlesticks.

Description

Condition Report

A pair of early twentieth century medieval style silver candlesticks of square form, tapered column and stylised brace and stud detail, filled. Hallmarked James Dixon & Sons Ltd Sheffield 1915. Height measuring 8 1/2 inches (21.5 cm).

Please note: When placing absentee bids, your bids will be rounded up to the nearest bid increment. For more information click the 'Important Notices for Purchasers' button above.

Purchasing information
The candlesticks display general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing and would benefit from a clean and polish. Some dents visible to the detachable nozzles and surrounding domed sconce. Only one candlestick has a lined base, which appears worn, therefore the second candlestick does wobble a little on a flat surface. The hallmarks are a little rubbed but overall legible.
