A late 19th century 9ct gold split pearl ouroboros brooch.

Condition Report

A late 19th century 9ct gold split pearl ouroboros brooch, of oval outline, the woven hair panel within a double oroboros surround, the outer snake with graduated split pearl body and green paste eye. Inscription dated 1886. Length 3.2cms. Weight 5.4gms.

Purchasing information
    The lot is in good overall condition with scratches and small dents in keeping with general wear. The pin hinge and clasp are replacements with slight discolouration to the edges. The personal inscription reads "Robert Austruther, Died July 21st 1886". The split pearls are discoloured, one cultured pearl replacement, worn. The green paste is significantly worn.
