Condition Report

Three late 19th century Scottish silver agate brooches, the first designed as a rectangular-shape hardstone mosaic panel composed of various agates, together with an agate panel brooch with scrolling surround and a paste and agate floral brooch. Lengths 7.1 to 2.8cms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good. Some surface wear and tarnishing in keeping with general wear. The metal surround on one of the brooches is broken at one end. Agate is of varying colours, transparencies and has typical banding. Agate in fair to good condition with some minor abrasion and nibbles. Paste pinkish purple with typical inclusions, good condition with minor abrasion and nibbles. Please see Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue for coloured gemstones. The paste and agate brooch is stamped sterling silver. Two brooches unhallmarked.
