Condition Report

An early 20th century 15ct gold demantoid garnet, diamond and split pearl set bug brooch, with an oval demantoid garnet, rose cut diamond body and split pearl set eyes and wings. Length of brooch - 1.5cms, Width - 3.6cms. Weight - 4.77 grams. With fitted box.

Purchasing information
    Good condition. There is some abrasion to the facet edges of the demantoid garnet, there is an easily visible horse tail inclusion. The split pearls are all quite well matched, the nacre is damaged to a couple. The claws to the central rose cut diamond need to be secured, the claws to the garnet also need to be checked. There are slight scratches to the setting and pin. The pin and catch is secure, there is some tarnishing to the safety chain. The box is in quite good condition.
