Condition Report

A late 19th century shell cameo brooch, of oval-shape outline, the shell cameo carved to depict a classical lady holding a wreath, within a Greek Key and rope-twist surround. Length 6cms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair. There are scratches, dents and areas of greening to the outer surround. The back brooch fitting has been replaced. There is a crack to the shell cameo, which is surface reaching to the reverse but not to the front, there is another small internal fracture which is not surface reaching. The detail to the cameo is slightly worn. The back pin and catch is secure.
