Condition Report

A late 19th century 9ct gold shell cameo brooch, the oval shell cameo carved to depict a religious scene, within a curved surround, to the foliate engraved quarterly scrolls. Length 6.8cms. Weight 21gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition fair. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Evidence of repairs to parts of the frame. Replacement brooch fittings and pin. Some green staining to the catch base. Two of the scrolls are slightly misshapen and indented. Scratches and light indentations to the mount. Shell in fair condition with wear and smoothing/loss of detail to the high points of the carving. Typical fine hairline fractures.
