Condition Report

A selection of 9ct gold gem-set ear studs. To include a pair of amethyst cluster ear studs, a pair of red-gem and heart-shape motif ear studs, together with a pair of nephrite jade ear studs. Hallmarks and import marks for Birmingham, 1977 and London, 1976 and 1966. Diameters 1.6 to 1.3cms. Weight 11.2gms.

Purchasing information
    Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches and discolouration in keeping with general wear. The amethyst are fairly well matched with a purple to slightly purple hue and weak to medium saturation and good clarity. The red-gem are a pinkish-red with low saturation and dark inclusions which are just visible with the naked eye. The nephrite jade panels show a mottled green to whitish green, with dots of higher colour concentration, scratches and abrasion. Two pairs have fixed posts suitable for pierced ears. One pair has screw back fittings suitable for un pierced ears. Jade untested for natural colour origin. The US prohibits the importation of items containing rubies or jadeite originating in Burma.
