Condition Report

A mid 20th century 18ct gold sapphire and diamond dress ring. The old-cut diamond and oval-shape sapphire, to the old-cut diamond asymmetric shoulders and plain band. Principal diamond estimated weight 0.40ct, H-I colour, SI clarity. Weight 3gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • The principal diamond with visible abrasion to the facet edges, small dark inclusions visible with magnification.
  • Sapphire medium blue, with a moderate saturation of colour and typical inclusions. The sapphire appears slightly hazy.
  • Significant abrasion visible to facet edges and faces.
  • Estimated total outer diamond weight 0.20ct, chips visible to several with magnification.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
