Condition Report

A late 19th century gold brooch and locket. To include a portrait miniature brooch, the ceramic panel depicting a young boy in period dress within a bead and rope-twist surround, together with an enamel and split pearl locket pendant. Length 2.5 and 3.2cms. Weight 11gms.

  • Overall condition poor. Significant scratches, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Localised areas of discolouration and scratches.

  • Beading on the brooch surround is worn in some areas and deficient in others.

  • Enamel on locket is worn and missing in some areas.

  • Stones in poor condition with significant abrasion, chips and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Locket believed to be 9ct gold front and back not solid.
