Condition Report

A Belle Epoque 18ct gold emerald, diamond and seed pearl bow brooch. The circular emerald cabochon and single-cut diamond floral cluster, to the seed pearl bow sides, with rectangular-shape emerald line border. Estimated total diamond weight 0.25ct. French assay mark. Length 5.2cms. Weight 10.3gms.

  • Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Visible soft solder repair to the reverse.
  • Chips and areas of abrasion to the emeralds, visible with the unaided eye. Some typical inclusions visible with the unaided eye.
  • Some small chips to the central emerald cabochon.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Seed pearls are fairly well matched, blemishes visible with magnification.
