Condition Report

A mid 20th century diamond and sapphire brooch. Of openwork design, the circular-cut diamond, with calibre-cut sapphire surround, to the vari-cut diamond undulating palmette sides and similarly-cut diamond scrolling border. One diamond deficient. Principal diamond estimated 0.65ct, H-I colour, VS2-SI1 clarity. Length 4.3cms. Weight 10.4gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One diamond deficient.
  • Slight pitting.
  • Two loops to one side, may be worn as a pendant.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Principal diamond with a small fault, chip or natural at the girlde, mostly covered by a claw.
  • Individual size and setting of most diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Smaller daimonds with mostly small, scattered inclusions.
  • Sapphires are a medium blue hue. Typical inclusions.

  • Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
