Condition Report

A diamond floral and foliate brooch. Designed as an old and single-cut diamond floral bud, with foliate detail. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.40cts. Length 5.6cms. Weight 14.4gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Evidence of alteration with later addition panel and brooch fittings to the reverse.

  • Shape of clasp does not allow pin to be unfastened, attention required.

  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.

  • Diamonds very in shape, size and appearance, fairly well matched for colour and clarity.

  • Diamonds bright to fairly bright.

  • Diamonds show light coloured inclusions to many easily seen under magnification.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Diamonds in mostly good condition with minor abrasions, a few have small chips.
