Condition Report

A gem-set jardiniere brooch. Of openwork design, the woven basket, containing a profusion of gem-set flowers amongst rose-cut diamond foliage. AF. French assay marks. Length 4.6cms. Total weight 17.2gms.

Purchasing information

  • Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Small loops to reverse, may be worn as a pendant.

  • Seed pearl deficient. Remaining seed pearls vary in colour.

  • Seed pearls untested for natural origin.

  • Some glue-like substance visible to some mounts.

  • Diamonds fairly well matched.


  • Individual cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate assessment of total weight, colour and clarity.

  • Diamonds appear moderately cloudy, some surface reaching inclusions.

  • Gems presumed foil back. Gems fairly well matched.

  • Gems include ruby, sapphire and green gems, some green gems believed to be emeralds, settings limit ability to test.

  • Some gems with small chips.
