A late Victorian three piece silver tea service with floral chased decoration.

Condition Report

A late Victorian silver three piece bachelor tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each of circular tapering form and ornately chased throughout with repeat pattern borders enclosing a central band of birds amidst floral and foliate scrolls and twin opposed vacant cartouche, the teapot with conforming decoration to spout and hinged lid. Hallmarked John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1890. Height of teapot inclusive of finial measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm), gross weight 22.51 ozt (700.2 grams).

Purchasing information
    Appears in a tarnished state and would benefit from a clean and polish. Otherwise the tea service appears in good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches. A couple of minor surface dints. The decoration is generally still good, residues of polish are visible. Hinged lid in good working order. Hallmarks are clear and legible, maker's marks a little distorted. Matching part hallmarks to lid.
