Condition Report
A nineteenth century Dutch silver bachelor teapot, of pear form to a footed base with floral and foliate chased wide borders enclosing a central faceted band, the scroll handle with ivory insulators and caryatid style mount and the removable lid with conforming floral decoration and winged figurative finial. Dutch assay marks to base including a Crowned Lion Rampant, a possible maker's mark, a date letter mark probably for 1872 or 1879 and a further indistinct mark, lid appears unmarked. Teapot length measuring 8 inches (20.3 cm), weight 7.67 ozt (238.5 grams).

Purchasing information-
The teapot displays some general tarnishing, surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Several surface dints and bumps, especially visible to the central band, where there is also a small repair. Further solder repairs visible and some small holes in the decoration. Residues of polish. Although not marked, the lid appears a good fit. Heavy staining to interior. Assay marks are a little distorted.
