Condition Report

A gold, diamond and sapphire fob watch. The circular dial, with diamond foliate surround, suspended from a diamond and sapphire openwork surmount and bar brooch. Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 0.20ct. Watch case with 18ct gold import marks for London, 1913. Length 4.8cms. Total weight 19.1gms.

  • Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Comprising antique jewellery components.
  • Localised soft solder trace to the hinges.
  • Tarnish to metal surface.
  • Personal inscription and scratches to the inside of the watch case.
  • Reverse with personal inscription reads 'M.M.CRAVEN'.
  • Diamonds bright.
  • Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphire medium blue, fairly well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Sapphire in good to fair condition with some abrasion and nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Watch case with import marks for 18ct gold, bar brooch with hallmarks for 9ct gold.
