Condition Report

A silver and silver-gilt commemorative goblet for Chichester Cathedral, designed for the ninth centenary of its foundation, the tapering trefoil bowl with gilded interior and raised on a relief decorated wheat sheaf stem to a spread circular foot. Hallmarked Desmond Clen-Murphy for Aurum, London 1975 and further stamped Aurum, limited edition no. 33/600. Height measuring 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm), gross weight 10.15 ozt (315.5 grams).

Purchasing information
    The goblet appears in good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches. A little tarnished so would benefit from a clean and polish. Gilding to wheat sheaf stem quite tarnished. Hallmarked to underside, slight rubbing but still clearly legible. Impressed to underside 'Number 33 of a limited edition of 600 made by order of the Dean and Chapter to commemorate the ninth centenary of the Foundation of Chichester Cathedral in 1075.'
