A large 1930's silver trophy.

Condition Report

A large 1930's silver trophy, the plain circular cup with a removable slightly domed cover with conical finial and curved twin handles with Art Deco accents, the body engraved with a presentation inscription, leading to a baluster stem raised upon a stepped circular base. Hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., Sheffield 1935. Height measuring 14 4/8 inches (37 cm), weight 49.6 ozt (1543.4 grams).

Purchasing information
    In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The inscription reads 'Tug-Of-War Challenge Cup Presented By The City of London Electric Lighting Company Ltd.' Would benefit from a clean and polish. Hallmarks clear and legible, further marked 'Mappin & Webb Ltd London & Sheffield' beneath the base.
