Condition Report

An early 20th century platinum and gold, pearl, ruby and diamond brooch. The pearl and old-cut diamond cluster, with square-shape ruby and old-cut diamond kite-shape and circular surrounds. Mark to clasp. Estimated total diamond weight 0.85ct. Diameter 2.5cms. Weight 7.1gms. Pearl untested.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good to fair. Jeweller- type scratch marks to the centre of reverse. Minor surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds fairly bright and well matched.
  • Individual cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Rubies are a medium slightly purplish red hue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Rubies are in good to fair condition with small chips, nicks and abrasion.

  • Pearl untested for natural origin.
  • Pearl is a creamy white hue with pinkish overtones.

  • Pearl in good condition.

  • Marks to the clasp, worn, obscured - possibly Russian.
