A late Victorian silver spoon, embellished with twist, scrolls and shell motifs with a cherub to the bottom of the stem and vacant cartouche to the terminal, hallmarked Charles Edwards, London 1899, length measuring 7 6/8 inches (19.7 cm). Together with composite silver wine funnel, having gadrooned rim, shell side clip, embossed floral panels surrounding an engraved crested cartouche, with simple drilled holes to sieve and removable plain funnel section with beaded rim, the sieve is hallmarked Charles Thomas Fox, London 1825, the funnel with maker's mark IC?. Gross weight 6.1 ozt (190 grams). (2).

Purchasing information-
In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. No personal engravings to the cartouche on the spoon, some minor loss of definition to the decoration. The sieve of the wine funnel is dented in places with signs of crude solder to the interior rim for the funnel which covers some of the drilled holes. The top of the funnel has been cut off, with two possible further marks off struck and obscured. The edge of the funnel has plastic stuck around it covering the maker's mark, significant solder repairs to the interior rim of the funnel. Hallmarks clear and legible.
