Condition Report

A late Victorian gold, Assyrian Archaeological Revival brooch. Of circular outline, depicting the Lamassu in relief, to the rope-twist and bead surrounds, with glazed reverse. Diameter 3.9cms. Total weight 15.8gms.

Purchasing information

  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.

  • Wear to the gilt finish to the front of the brooch.

  • Base metal pin and locket mount.


  • Four small areas of wear to the raised areas of the figure, the nose, headdress and rear leg.
