Condition Report

A selection of late Victorian mourning jewellery. To include a horn and wooden bead necklace, a pietra dura and jet brooch, a vulcanite floral brooch, together with a pressed horn hand brooch. Length of necklace 48.5cms. Length of brooches 2.7 to 5.4cms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good.
  • Necklace with some wear to the coating of the wooden beads.
  • Minor to moderate chips and/or abrasion to the horn panels of the necklace, most wear is to the reverse.
  • Piera dura brooch with chips to the reverse of the jet.
  • Remaining two brooches with damage to the fittings, clasps deficient, one bar dent, both require attention.
  • Some fading and discolouration. Hand brooch with chips and cracking.
