Condition Report

A mid Victorian silver and gold, amethyst and diamond brooch. The oval-shape amethyst, with old-cut diamond surround. Estimated dimensions of amethyst 17.5 by 14.3 by 7.1mms. Estimated total diamond weight 3cts, H-I colour, SI1-P1 clarity. Length 3cms. Weight 14.1gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamond fairly well matched. Slightly varied in size.
  • Diamonds bright.
  • Diamonds with some small dark inclusions, surface reaching fractures and naturals under 10x magnification. Some inclusions eye-visible.
  • Amethyst is a deep medium purple hue, fairly well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Tiger stripe inclusion extending across stone.
  • Amethyst in good to fair condition with minor abrasions and some scratches to the table.
  • Width 2.5cms.
