Condition Report

An early 20th century aquamarine and diamond cluster brooch. The oval-shape aquamarine, with old-cut diamond surround and similarly-cut diamond scalloped halo. Estimated dimensions of aquamarine 16 by 11 by 7.5mms. Estimated total diamond weight 2.50cts. Length 2.8cms. Weight 6.9gms.

Purchasing information
  • Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.
  • One of the four sections connecting the outer halo to the inner halo damaged and not currently connected.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Diamonds bright.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Diamonds with some small light and dark inclusions under 10x magnification, some surface reaching.
  • Aquamarine is a medium greenish blue hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Aquamarine in good to fair condition with some abrasions to facets and facet edges.

  • Width 2.3cms.
